Daryl and Maria spent a cold, sleepless night at St James’ Park as part of CEO Sleepout the charity aimed at raising funds for the UK’s homeless.

Thermals at the ready, the night started with a talk from charity Changing Lives explaining just how valuable each penny is to their charity and helping Tyneside’s homeless to really change their lives.

After a tour of the ‘Toon’s Dressing Room’, they bedded down for the night on the Terraces. Apparently the noise of the seagulls, sirens and clocks chiming along with the cold meant very little sleep for them both. Maria said “having spent one sleepless night outdoors, I dread to think what life would be like on the streets. I hope the funds raised help both Changing Lives and Newcastle United Foundation improve the lives of people less fortunate than us.”

Currently our fundraising duo have raised £775 including gift aid. Well done Maria and Daryl. There’s still time to donate, click here for further information.
