AMH Workspace Enters New Chapter with Management Buyout by Longstanding Directors
AMH Workspace, a trusted name in office interiors and workspace design, is proud to announce a new chapter in its history following a successful management buyout by Directors Maria Potts and Simon Greensmith, supported by Phil Murray and Glyn Davison of TC Harlands.
The transition follows the passing of company founder Ian Moir in October 2024. Ian, who established the Washington based business with his wife Clarice in 1984, built AMH Workspace into one of the North East’s most respected workspace design and fit-out specialists. His legacy of innovation, integrity, and client-first service remains at the heart of the company.
Maria and Simon, who have each been instrumental in the company’s leadership and growth, bring a combined wealth of experience and a shared vision for the future. Their buyout ensures continuity for clients, employees, and partners, while opening the door to new opportunities in the evolving world of workplace design.
“Ian’s passion and entrepreneurial spirit shaped everything we do,” said Maria Potts. “We’re honoured to continue his legacy and lead AMH Workspace into its next phase and we’d like to thank the family for making the MBO a reality for us.”
“This is a proud and exciting moment,” added Simon Greensmith. “We have an exceptional team of people who are key to the company’s success and are committed to building on our strong foundations and continuing to deliver inspiring workspaces for our clients.”
The management buyout positions AMH Workspace for continued growth, with a focus on sustainable design, client collaboration and innovation in the commercial property and interiors sector.
