Wishing our girls Kate and Heather well in their preparation for their upcoming charity events in June and July!
Kate and Heather are both fundraising for charities close to their hearts in the next couple of months.
Heather is currently training for Trek26, a 26 mile walk in the Lake District from Dalemain and taking in the beautiful Ullswater Way raising valuable funds for The Alzheimer’s Society.
Having lost her Grandma to the disease and more recently her best friends Mum, the charity is very close to Heather’s heart.
“My friend and I have been training for a few months now locally and in the Lakes and we’re comfortably walking 10-12 miles so I’m hoping with another 6 weeks of training we should be able to smash 26miles”
Kate is taking part in Race for Life Pretty Muddy in July. This should be great fun involving Kate and her friends who were all on the same Interior Design course at Northumbria Uni (many moons ago).
Pretty Muddy is a 5k obstacle course on Newcastle’s Town Moor on 9th July.
“Having lost my Grandma to cancer, the charity is close to my heart. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and the funds raised can really make a difference to Cancer Researches groundbreaking work”
