The design brief was to create a warm and welcoming new HQ for leather and wood cleaning and repair business Furniture Clinic. Our design team led with products which emphasise nature providing a ‘bridge to the outside’, improving wellbeing and productivity with the use of woods and biophilia throughout.
The atrium really does provide a striking entrance to the building. Using Forbo’s Allura Flex LVT flooring in brown raw timber together with soft tonal carpets the resultant space is welcoming and provides zoned areas for numerous, simultaneous meetings. A new suspended ceiling was also installed along with dramatic pendant lighting from CP Lighting.
A striking cedar slat wall with natural moss greets you when entering Reception, with the ‘Furniture Clinic’ logo in brushed aluminium stand off lettering just to remind you where you are… The maintenance free moss feature was sustainably harvested and preserved using eco friendly materials.
Cedar slats continue into the Meeting Room which creates a calming feature mixed with the use of Forbo’s Cloudscape carpet in a soft green. The 3 metre solid oak boardroom table really does add warmth to such a large room with floor to ceiling double glazed partitioning making the room spacious and light.
In the open plan office area, white desking with black framework and neutral acoustic screens were used. A high collaboration table and planters in natural oak finish were used with green and grey tones complimented with feature acoustic lighting.
The fit out works included: Full strip out, double glazed partitioning, oak veneer door sets, flooring works throughout, cedar slat walls with moss inserts, 250m2 of new suspended ceilings and a new tea point.
